Texarkana, TX – June 28, 2018 – There was never a doubt in tonight’s matchup as the Bombers offense exploded for 23 runs in a 23-3 victory over the Texarkana Twins. This puts the Bombers record at 17-10 and back into contention for first place in the TCL. The entire Bombers lineup got in on the fun this game, with each player who stepped up to the plate except one reaching base, and every player in the starting lineup reaching base multiple times. The Bombers scored 1 run in the 1st, 6 runs in the 2nd, 3 runs in the 3rd, 8 runs in the 6th, 3 runs in the 8th, and 2 runs in the 9th to have their biggest offensive output for the season thus far. The best performers at the plate for the Bombers were Robin Adames Jr, who went 3-5 with 6 RBIs and hit a grand slam in the second inning, Chase Kemp, who went 3-6 with 4 RBIs and hit a two run home run, and pinch hitter Hunter Reeves, who is a pitcher, who went 1-1 with a two run home run to dead center field. The Bombers weren’t only working hard at the plate, as the Bombers pitchers were able to shut down the Twins hitters all night. Starting pitcher Austin Hendrix was especially effective, going 6 innings and only allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and striking out 8. Hendrix was efficient with his pitches, only needing 75 pitches to get through his outing tonight. The ability to limit the Twins opportunities each time the Bombers had a big inning at the plate, allowed the team to maintain momentum and have success tonight. The Bombers remain on the road tomorrow night in Texarkana, where they will take on the Twins in the second game of their two game set. They will then return to Travis Field for a home series against the Texas Marshals, with Saturday night being an early Independence Day celebration at the ballpark.
