Bryan/College Station, TX – July 16, 2018 – The Bombers had early inning struggles that they could not overcome in tonight’s game against the Texas Marshals. The team fell behind 7-0 after the second inning and the late inning rally for the team came up just short as they fell 9-6 at Travis Field. The Bombers started off by allowing the Marshals to jump out to a 5-0 lead after the first inning, and then the visitors further increased the lead to 7-0 following a pair of runs in the 2nd inning. The home team was able to get on the board in the 5th inning, as they scored a pair of runs, the first coming on a RBI double from Brady Batten and the second came with a Sy Snedeker single to make the score 7-2. The Marshals then answered back in the 6th inning with a two run home run to increase the lead to 9-2. In the bottom half of the inning, the Bombers retook the momentum, scoring a pair of runs on RBI groundouts from Cole Coker and Alex Nielsen to reduce the Marshals advantage to 9-4. The final runs of the night came in the 7th inning, when the Bombers scored another 2 runs, as Sy Snedeker came in to score on a wild pitch and Cam Blake scored on a Casey Danley sacrifice fly. The Bombers return to Travis Field on tomorrow night at 7:05 to take on the Texas Marshals for the final game of the series before heading back on the road. The next homestand begins July 26th and will feature Fireworks Friday and Star Wars Night on July 27th against the Texarkana Twins.
