Lafayette, LA – July 18, 2018 – The Bombers brought their bats on the road as they were able to hit 3 home runs in an offensive explosion against the Cane Cutters, winning 9-1. The win now places the Bombers record at 25-16 and a half game behind Victoria for first place in the TCL. The Bombers offense got going in the second with back to back home runs. First up was Cole Coker who crushed a three run home run, followed by Casey Danley whose solo home run made the score 4-0. Alex Nielsen scored the fifth run for the Bombers, when he scored on a Christian Sepulveda sac fly. Nielsen would score his second run of the game in the fifth inning to make the score 6-0 after Dylan Bonhert hit a sac fly. Robin Adames picked up an RBI in the 6th inning after he knocked in Bennett Inoff, increasing the Bombers lead to 7-0. The final runs of the night for the Bombers came in the 7th inning, when Dylan Bonhert crushed a two run home run to make the score 9-0. The Cane Cutters would then score their lone run of the night in the bottom of the 7th to give us the 9-1 final. On the mound, it was another effective start for Bombers pitching. This time Dylan Lester did well keeping the Cane Cutters off the scoreboard, going 6 scoreless innings. Lester was also helped out by his defense, as the team turned two key double plays to help out their pitcher tonight. The Bombers finish the two game series against Acadiana tomorrow before having four off days. The next homestand begins July 26th and will feature Fireworks Friday and Star Wars Night on July 27th against the Texarkana Twins.
