Graham 19,
Mineral Wells 5
Graham scored 11 runs in the top of the fourth inning, aided by a grand slam from Jess Buenger, as the Roughnecks destroyed Mineral Wells at Pratt Field. The Roughnecks sent 14 batters to the plate in the inning as they broke out of a slump to get their first win in the last four games.
Buenger had four hits and a walk and is believed to be the first TCL player to hit for the cycle. Buenger slapped a double in the seventh to finish off his historical night.
Ive been in a slump since the All Star Game, so it was really great to break out, said Buenger. I knew about the cycle and was just glad to get a hit where I could get to second to get the double I needed. Thats the first time thats ever happened to me.
Buengers night overshadowed at two-homer night from Ben Burum, who has a league best 12 for the summer.
