Duncanville pitcher Bryan Price (Rice) as D-Bat Pitcher of the Week for the games during July 23 – July 29.Dao (6-0, 180, So.) led the Roughnecks charge this week hitting .556 (10-for-18) with five RBI.  The

Fort Worth, TX native raised his average 48 points and boosted into second in the TCL with a .355 average.  Dao tallied a hit in every game this week including four multi-hit games.During his sophomore year at Northeast Texas CC, Dao put up monster numbers hitting .405 with six home runs and 21 doubles.  Dao originally was enrolled at TCU his freshman year before transferring to NTCC.Price (6-4, 200, So.) will go down in the TCL history books with the most single game strikeouts after fanning 18 Copperheads on Friday night.  The previous record was held by Coppell’s Jess Todd when he struck out 15 batters in 2006.  The Rice product struck out Jonas Fester to tie the record in the 6th and he surpassed the record by making Matt Curry victim number 16.  Price left the game after 7.2 innings only giving up one earned run, three hits, one walk and an astounding 18 strikeouts.Price becomes the second consecutive Rice pitcher to win the award after Mike Ojala snagged one last week.  Click here for more 2007 TCL stats.
