Mineral Wells pitcher Wade Mackey (Baylor) as D-Bat Pitcher of the Week for the games during July 2 – July 8.Field (5-9, 170, So.) went on a tear last week hitting .583 (7-for-12) and raked in five RBI for the Outlaws.  The second year starter for

Denton had a tremendous performance against the Roughnecks going 3-for-4 with two runs and four RBI.  Field raised his average 74 points this week bringing it to .270 with 10 RBI and seven stolen bases on the season.During his sophomore season at

State , the Hewitt, TX native started every game for the Bobcats and batted .270 with 17 doubles, four home runs, 37 RBI and 13 stolen bases.    Mackey (6-2, 220, RFr.) was lights out against Coppell earning the win by a strong seven inning performance allowing four hits, one earned run and striking out 12 while giving up zero walks.  The two-time TCL All-Star, who earned the win for the Rogers Hornsby division in this year’s mid-summer classic, leads the Steam with 25 strikeouts and posts a 1-2 record with a 3.24 ERA in 25 innings pitched. The redshirt freshman from Van, TX became an essential part of the Baylor pitching staff in 2007.  Mackey ranked second on the team with a 2.45 ERA and tallied a 4-2 record in 14 appearances.  He was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 30 after tossing the Bears’ first complete-game shutout in more than one calendar year with a 3-0 win at No. 23 TCU.
