There’s only a small percentage of talented players that get the chance to play the game of baseball on a daily basis in a competitive atmosphere.  An even smaller percentage gets the chance to play baseball as a representative of their country.  Familiar faces of the TCL grace the Team USA roster, as

Arkansas ’ Logan Forsythe (Euless LoneStars ‘06) and Texas Tech’s Roger Kieschnick (Coppell Copperheads ‘07) battle on the diamond against teams across the globe.  Though several players on Team USA have played well this summer, few have produced more than Forsythe.  The former LoneStar, who has made a smooth transition from third base to playing some outfield, is hitting .333 with a home run, 12 RBI, and a team-high six doubles.  Forsythe also top the team with a .461 on-base percentage and six stolen bases.  During his 2006 stint with the LoneStars, Forsythe hit .291 with three doubles and 10 RBI in 33 games.  He intended on returning to the TCL for the 2007 season until he accepted the invitation to play for Team USA.After a very impressive performance at the beginning of the TCL season with Coppell, Kieschinick accepted the invitation to return to Team USA for his second stint.   TCL’s week one D-Bat Player of the Week leads Team USA with four round-trippers and is currently hitting .246 with two doubles and 12 RBI.  Kieschnick is considered to be a leader on the squad as this is his second trip with the Red, White and Blue.“Guys ask me all the time what to expect,” Kieschnick told TexasTech.cstv.com.  “Me and Perdo Alverez, from Vanderbilt, are the ones who have `been there, done that,’ so we definitely take charge, help the pitchers out and help the guys in anyway that we can.”The USA Baseball National Team performs each summer in a schedule of exhibition games across and overseas against teams across the world. They also take on the Japanese Collegiate All-Stars in an annual five-game series and have never lost the series on American soil.  Among the many players who have worn the red, white and blue for the National lineup includes: Nomar Garciaparra, Ryan Howard, Jason Varitek, Huston Street, Todd Helton, Troy Glaus, Tino Martinez, Bobby Crosby and Jered Weaver. The five-game series with continues in Ft.
