With the score tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Jake Fuller blasted a walk-off single that short-hopped the right field fence to drive Collin Hetzler in from second base to win the game. The Tomcats entered into the ninth inning trailing 3-4. They tied the game after Scott Pasket walked, stole second, advanced to third on a passed ball, and scored on another passed ball. Justin Thomas was credited with the win on the mound for the Tomcats. It was his first win in a Tomcat’s uniform. Vance Woodruff took the loss for the Marshals. Casey Grayson went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Tomcats with an RBI double on the night. Brock Hebert went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases. Hebert has now tied the TCL record for stolen bases in a season at 39. His next steal will break the record. Starting pitcher Jason West was solid on the mound for the Tomcats, despite getting a no-decision. West struck out nine batters on the night in 6.2 innings of work, only allowing one earned run on four hits. The Tomcats moved to 17-18 on the season as the Marshals fell to 14-20. The Tomcats will host the Victoria Generals on Thrusday night starting at 7:05pm at Veterans Memorial Park in Weimar. It will be Thirsty Thursday at the park. That means draft beer will be $1 all game long.
