Twelve Gray Team pitchers combined to hold the White Team to three singles in a 7-0 victory in the Dr Pepper Texas Collegiate League Futures Game on Sunday afternoon at Ameriquest Field in Arlington.
Parker Dalton of Mineral Wells and Texas A&M, was selected as the game�s Most Outstanding Player as the second baseman was 2-4 with two rbi and two stolen bases. Dalton had a two-run single in the Gray Team�s four-run second inning that gave them a 5-0 lead. The Gray Team took advantage of four White Team errors to score four unearned runs.
Eddie Degerman of Denton and Rice University pitched a scoreless first inning to earn the victory. The White Team failed to produce a hit over the final 5.2 innings.
Chance Corgan of Euless and Texas A&M was the starter and loser after allowing a first inning run.
Fifty-two of the Texas Collegiate League�s top prospects participated in the Futures Game. Former major league pitcher Todd Van Poppel coached the Gray Team while ex-major league infielder Scott Livingstone guided the White Squad.
