The Highland Park Blue Sox won its first game of the 2005 TCL season, dealing the Coppell Copperheads its first loss of the year, 11-1 on Friday night. Highland Park (1-3) received superb pitching from Mark Doll, who fired seven scoreless innings, allowing only 3 hits, to highlight Friday’s TCL action.

Will Henderson went 2-5 to lead the Blue Sox, he had a double and an RBI. Michael Glomb was 2-4 and Matt Carter hit a pinch-hit home run.
Coppell (3-1) scored its lone run on an RBI single by Lee Harughty in the eighth inning.

In other TCL action from Friday:

Mineral Wells-7 Graham 2: Mineral Wells took advantage of four Roughneck errors and used a 5 run fifth inning to defeat Graham. Shortstop Blake Stouffer was 2-5 with an RBI, third baseman Jay Brossman was also 2-5 with 2 RBIs and DH Ben Burum was 2-4 with an RBI to lead the Steam.
James Hall pitched 7 inings, allowing only one run on 3 hits to gain his first victory of the season.
Graham, (2-2), took an early lead by scoring in the top of the first. The lead held up until the Steam bats were able to come alive against starter Tyler Soeder, who suffered his first loss.

Euless-7 McKinney-2: Euless scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first to ease by the Marshalls. Matt Lambeth and Joe Roundy each had RBIs in the rally.
Drew Jeffcoat fired 3 shutout innings for the Lone Stars, (3-1) to earn the win, his first. He allowed only one hit while striking out 3.
Jason Diaz was 3-3 for the Lone Stars, while Keith Stein was 2-3 with a double.
McKinney, (1-3), committed four errors behind starter Tim Erickson, who allowed 9 hits and 4 runs in 4 2/3 innings.

Denton-7 Weatherford-4: The Outlaws, (2-2), won their first game at the stadium on Bonnie Brae behind four home runs. Kris Jenkins, Reed Lesuear, Philip Stringer and Thomas Sawyer each had bombs in the Denton victory.
Weatherford, (3-2), countered with homers from Roberto Mena, Joe Newman and John Ingram, but starter Colt Haynes allowed 6 runs in as many innings to earn his first loss of the season.
Jackie Smith earned the victory for the Outlaws.
