ROGERS HORNSBY 3, TRIS SPEAKER 0Lupton Stadium at TCUBOX SCOREFORT WORTH – McKinney’s Derek Wiley (Belmont) provided the only punch the Rogers Hornsby Division needed with a sixth-inning home run in the Texas Collegiate League’s fourth annual All-Star game Monday night in front of 1,519 spectators at TCU Lupton Stadium. The 3-0 victory provided the Hornsby Division with its first win in the annual mid-summer match up between stars of the collegiate wood bat league’s two divisions.Wiley, a sophomore from Belmont University, stepped to the plate as a pinch hitter with two runners on base after Seth Hammock (Baylor) walked and Brian Holaday (NCTC) was hit by a pitch. The right-handed hitter then ripped an 0-2 pitch from Trevor Hurley (Kansas State) over the left field wall, driving in all of the runs scored on the night.Wade Mackey (Baylor) from the Mineral Wells Steam, got the win for the Hornsby Division as 11 pitchers combined to allow just three hits to the rival Tris Speaker Division. Weatherford’s Jeremy Erben (Weatherford College) recorded the final out of the game to earn the save. Hurley was charged with the loss.Earlier that night, Colleyville’s Kyle Hardman (Cal-State Fullerton) won the PlainsCapital Home Run Derby.  He becomes the second consecutive LoneStar to win the title (Aaron Luna – 2006).CLICK HERE for the Box Score.Rogers Hornsby 3, Tris Speaker 0 (Jul 09, 2007 at Fort Worth, Texas)———————————————————————-Rogers Hornsby…… 000 003 000  –  3  7  2Tris Speaker……..   000 000 000  –  0  3  0———————————————————————-Pitchers: Rogers Hornsby – MURRAY, J; ANDERSON, C(2); KIBLER, J(3); OLIVER, J(4); MACKEY, W(5);MAXWELL, S(6); YOUNG, R(7); MAJ, J(8); MILLER, R(9); ERBEN, J(9).
