Jake Arietta didn�t allow an earned run in eight innings and Logan Parker drove in five runs as McKinney beat Weatherford, 6-1, on Tuesday at Gabe Nesbitt Field.
Arietta (2-1) struck out six, walked four and allowed four hits. Parker belted a two-run homer in the fourth to give McKinney the lead and ripped a three-run triple in the eighth inning.
The Wranglers scored their only run on Travis Reagan�s RBI groundout in the fourth.
McKinney answered immediately with Parker�s blast off Donald Furrow (2-2) in the bottom of the stanza. The first four hitters in the Marshals� order � Jose Salazar, Louie Alamia, Trey Rachal and Parker � were a combined 9-for-14.
Coppell 1, Mineral Wells 0: At Mineral Wells, Tyler Hill�s single in the top of the ninth scored Damon Sublett with an unearned run to lift the Copperheads to victory at Pratt Field.
Coppell�s Brandon Knapp went the distance, tossing a four-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and one walk. The Coppell offense managed only three hits against James Halle � eight strikeouts in six innings � and Chad Linder.
Ben Burum had two hits for the Steam.
Graham 8, Euless 4: At Euless, Graham pounded out 15 hits, and scored four times in the eighth to earn a comeback win at The Parks at Texas Star.
Keanon Simon, Justin Colbert, Dustin Martin, Steve Ptak, Trent Lockwood and Dane Carter had two hits apiece for the Roughnecks. With the score tied 4-4 in the eighth, Carter stole home to put Graham ahead. Colbert followed with an RBI single and Ptak�s two-run single capped the rally.
Tyler Weber had three hits for Euless, which committed four costly errors.
Highland Park 12, Denton 8: In Denton, the Blue Sox scored five runs in the eighth inning to snap a 7-7 tie. Lamce Bina’s three-run double was the big hit in the inning, which also saw Tyler Jones going deep. Matt Berezay, Will Henderson, and Bina, who had five rbi, also homered for Highland Park. Nick Tess worked two scoreless innings for the win in relief. Josh Banda had a pair of home runs and four rbi for the Outlaws and has three homers and seven rbi in his last two games.
