Catcher Josh Banda of the Denton Outlaws and lefthander Hunter Moody of the McKinney Marshals have been selected as the D-Bat Texas Collegiate League Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively for July 4-10, it was announced Tuesday by the league office.

Banda, a sophomore from Orange County Community College, batted .500 (11-22) with five doubles, a home run, and six rbi in five games for Denton last week. The righthanded batter is hitting .463 with five homers and 14 rbi in 13 games since joining the Outlaws in late June.

Moody, a freshman from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, pitched seven shutout innings in a 6-0 victory over the Graham Roughnecks on July 6. The lefthander issued just two singles with two walks and six strikeouts to improve to 3-0 in four starts this summer. Moody has a 2.67 era and has issued just 15 hits in 20.2 innings of work.

The second half of the 2005 Texas Collegiate League season begins on Thursday night. In Monday�s Brookshire�s McCormick TCL All-Star Game, the Tris Speaker Division recorded a 5-2 win over the Rogers Hornsby Division. The game was played before a capacity crowd at Gabe Nesbitt Field in McKinney, home of the McKinney Marshals.

Adam Moore of the Coppell Copperheads had a double and a home run and was named the game�s Most Outstanding Player. Brett Robinson of McKinney won Outstanding Pitcher honors with a perfect inning that included two strikeouts.
