Matt Smith�s two-run single in the first inning was enough for McKinney to edge Coppell, 2-1, on Wednesday at Gabe Nesbitt Field in a battle of the TCL�s top teams.
Hunter Moody (4-0) outdueled Jacob Ramos by allowing just one run on four hits in eight innings. Bryce Cox got Trey Adams to ground out with the tying run on second base in the ninth to record his seventh save. McKinney trails Coppell by one game in the win column for the Tris Speaker Division lead.
Ramos (4-2) allowed three hits and struck out six in seven innings. The Copperheads got their only run in the second when Moody issued three walks. John Infante walked with the bases loaded to score Trey Stewart.

Denton 8, Mineral Wells 5: At Mineral Wells, Andrew Brown went 4-for-5 with a pair of homers to lead the Outlaws to victory at Pratt Field.
Kerr Foster (1-3) struck out eight and allowed eight hits in six innings. Denton scored three runs in the top of the ninth on a Brown homer, a Kris Jenkins double and Brian McBryde�s single. Denton maintained its two-game lead over Weatherford in the Rogers Hornsby Division.
For Mineral Wells, Todd Sebek went 4-for-5 with two homers, three RBIs and three runs scored. Steam pitchers walked 11 batters.

Weatherford 2, Graham 1: At Weatherford, the Wranglers snapped a five-game losing streak behind the pitching of Shea Hancock and Kyle Nicholson at Roger Williams Park.
Hancock (4-0) went six innings, allowing one run on three hits. Nicholson surrendered one hit in three innings to notch his second save.
Weatherford strung together five consecutive hits in the sixth to take the lead. Roberto Mena and Clay Britton had the run-scoring hits. Michael Harkins was 3-for-4.
Dane Carter drew a bases-loaded walk in the second for Graham�s only run.

Highland Park 7, Euless 3: At Highland Park, Tyler Jones went 3-for-4, homered and scored three times as the Blue Sox snapped Euless� three-game win streak.
Highland Park went up 5-0 in the fifth on Jarod Freeman�s two-run single. Rodney Brantley (5-2) allowed three runs in six innings.
The first six LoneStars batters reached in the seventh inning, plating three runs. Matt Langwell got a key double play with the bases loaded to avoid further damage.
