Ben Burum’s rbi single in the bottom of the first inning produced the game’s only run as the Steam blanked the Marshals at Pratt Field. It was the second nine-inning 1-0 game in the TCL this summer as Coppell defeated Mineral Wells by that score on June 28. Starter and winner James Halle worked the first seven innings with Chad Linder and Wesley Dorsett completing the shutout. McKinney’s Jake Arietta was the hard luck loser, allowed just four hits with five strikeouts in his complete game eight-inning effort. Trey Rachal and Matt Cavagnaro each had two hits for the Marshals. Blake Stouffer has two of the four Mineral Wells hits. The Steam have won two straight after losing eight in a row.

The Copperheads scored in the bottom of the ninth for a walk-off win versus the Wranglers. Bryan Herrera won his first game of the summer with two shutout innings in relief of starter Branden Knapp (5 ip, 4 r). Chris Williams and Trey Adans drove in two runs each for Coppell.

The LoneStars produced a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth to hand the Outlaws their seventh consecutive defeat. Caleb Rodgers worked four shutout relief innings for the victory with a save going to Jeremiah Haar. Jordon Street tokk the loss for Denton. Tyler Henley was 2-3 with a homer and three rbi and Brett Lawler added two hits and two rbi for Euless. Kyle Jones and Josh Banda had three hits apiece for the Outlaws.

Suspended in 2nd Inning
Thunderstorms forced the suspension of the Highland Park-Graham game in the top of the second inning at Steer Stadium. The game will be completed on Friday, July 8 at Graham. The teams will complete the suspended nine-inning game and then play the regularly schedule contest, which will go seven innings.
