McKinney scored five runs before the first out was recorded and took a 6-0 lead after one inning at Pratt Field in Mineral Wells.
The Marshalls tagged starter Josh Miller for the runs while Austin Creps shut down the Steam bats.
McKinney moved to 21-13 on the season with the victory, good enough for second place in the Tris Speaker Division, while Mineral Wells squeaked past Graham into last place in the Rogers Hornsby division with the loss.

The LoneStars came up with three runs in the top of the eighth to break a 1-1 tie, but the Roughnecks tied the game in the bottom of the eighth, then loaded the bases with no one out in the ninth before reliever Cory Julian walked in the winning run to break a three-game Roughnecks losing streak.
Keanon Simon was once again the spark for Graham. Simon was two for five with two runs scored while Justin Colbert added two hits.
The teams meet again on Saturday, this time in Euless.

The Outlaws used a fantastic performance by starter Blake Kronkosky, who went six innings allowing only two runs while striking out nine, to move into a tie for first place in the Hornsby division.
Nick Buck hit his first homer of the season to help pace the Denton attack. Kyle Jones had three hits and Andrew Brown had two.
Denton scored three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, four in the sixth and one in the seventh to take the victory.
