The Texas Collegiate League and its member teams are assisting in the relief effort for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The TCL has donated 25 cases of Deja Blue bottled water, eight boxes of All Sport Sports Drink powder and dozens of t-shirts and hats to the Salvation Army Disaster Relief Center in Dallas. The items will be provided to the thousands of evacuees who are coming to the Dallas-Fort Worth area from the ravaged areas along the Gulf Coast.
The individual Texas Collegiate League teams are also doing their part. The Coppell Copperheads have delivered 18 cases of bottled water to Reunion Arena in Dallas, where many of the evacuees are being sheltered. The Denton Outlaws have donated 42 cases of bottled water to the Salvation Army Disaster Relief Center.
Both the Euless LoneStars and the McKinney Marshals are planning to bring cases of bottled water and t-shirts directly to several of the affected locations in the New Orleans area.
Highland Park Blue Sox Managing Partner Paul Rogers, who is a Professor of Law at Dallas’ Southern Methodist University, has donated a number of cases of bottled water and shirts to the Tulane University athletes currently housed at SMU.
Other TCL teams are also putting together relief efforts.
