Texarkana, TX – June 29, 2018 – The Twins struggled to keep the Bombers off the board and couldn’t score late in the game at George Dobson Field. The team got on the scoreboard early but fell silent until the 6th.   The Twins jumped out early with Jaylon Keys scoring off of Coltyn Kessler’s single. The ball game was 1-0 until the 3rd when the Bombers tied it up. The Bombers then take the lead in the 4th making the score 2-1. In the 6th the Twins tie it up again when Jakob Nunez scored off of a Bomber error. Kessler then scores off of a sacrifice fly to give the Twins a 3-2 lead. Twins kept the lead until the Bombers scored 5 in the 8th making the score 7-3. The Twins were unable to put any more runs on the board. In the 9th the Bombers added one more run giving us a final score of 8-3.   Although the Twins struggled throughout the night Coltyn Kessler was able to score and have an RBI himself. JoJo Craig and Hunter Southerland had an RBI each as well. Brendan Dunkleberger was on the mound for the majority of the game pitching six innings. He gave up 10 hits, 2 runs, and 2 walks. Cannon Davis took the mound for one inning giving up 2 hits 3 runs, and 2 walks. Gage Burns then pitched one inning giving up 1 hit, 2 runs, and 1 walk. Austin Sachse pitched one inning as well giving up 1 hit, 1 run, and 1 walk. The Bombers made good contact throughout the entire game and took advantage of the Twins mistakes.   One of the few Twins to have success tonight was Hunter Southerland, who was able to get on base during a night when the Twins bats were silent. Southerland went 2-2 with a walk and RBI, being the best player for the Twins tonight. Jalynn Keys also was able to tally a RBI, when he drove in Southerland in the 8th inning.   The Twins will travel to Louisiana to face the Acadiana Cane Cutters tomorrow June 30th for a two-game series. They will then take a break for the All-Star games that will be played the first week of July.
