Texarkana, TX – July 24, 2018 – The Texarkana Twins continue to have success against the TCL’s top teams, defeating the Brazos Valley Bombers in 10 innings, 7-6. In a game when the Twins did not get their first hit until the 6th inning, the Twins never gave up and defeated the TCL leaders. The Bombers started tonight’s scoring with a pair of home runs, a solo home run coming in the 4th inning and a two run home run in the 6th inning to give the visiting team a 3-0 lead. The Twins came alive in the 6th inning, as they scored 4 in the inning to take the lead. Gunner Halter got the Twins on the board with a RBI single in the inning, followed by a bases clearing single from Coltyn Kessler to give the Twins the 4-3 lead. The Bombers would respond in the 7th with a run to have the game tied at 4 after 7 innings. The Twins retook the lead in the 8th inning as Kessler again picked up a RBI single, which scored Gunner Halter and Cam Hill and gave the Twins a 6-4 lead. The Twins struggled to close the game out in the 9th inning, as the Bombers scored two in order to send the game into extra innings. In the tenth, after the Twins bullpen sat the Bombers down in order, the plate discipline of the Twins proved to be the difference as Jaylnn Keys drew a bases loaded walk to give the Twins the 7-6 victory. The Twins finish the brief two game homestand tomorrow as they again take on the Brazos Valley Bombers at George Dobson Field..
