Texas & Louisiana, USA (June 7, 2021) — After 18 thrilling games of summer baseball, the Texas Collegiate League has announced its first set of TCL Co-Hitters of the Week. Victoria Generals infielder Chase Sanguinetti and Shelby Becker of the Brazos Valley Bombers are the founding recipients of this prestigious award for the 2021 season.

Sanguinetti walked into his first season with the Generals looking to make an impact, and in the team’s six games played thus far, it’s safe to say he’s done exactly that. The Florida State first baseman currently leads the TCL with 11 hits across 23 appearances at the plate, notching eight singles, two doubles and a home run. In his most dominant offensive performance yet, Sanguinetti went five-for-five against an undefeated Flying Chanclas pitching roster. Sanguinetti also has four runs and five RBIs to his name, rounding out the Co-Hitter of the Week’s .478 batting average.

Not wanting to be left out of the fun, Brazos Valley’s Becker has been making quite a name for himself on the offensive side of the diamond as well. With 25 at-bats, Becker drew five walks while recording 10 hits, including a double and a triple to right field. Against the Sod Squad, Becker posted three hits with a perfect 1.000 on-base percentage and dominant 1.333 slugging percentage. The first baseman’s .400 batting average paired with his multiple stolen bases make Becker an offensive threat against even the most solid of defenses.
